Tonight’s Spectacular Meteor Shower — Here’s How to Catch the Show!

by Safe Retirement Reports

The Earth’s night sky is about to put on a light show – the final meteor shower in 2023 will peak tonight! If you’re in a part of the world with dark skies, this will be an incredible sight, and if you’re unable to see it you can still watch it online!

The meteor shower will be the Delta Aquarids, in which meteors burn up in our atmosphere from the dust particles of old comets. This meteor shower is known for being especially bright compared to other showers!

Typically, it will take about 10 to 20 meteors per hour to create the “meteor shower” effect – although tonight’s shower is expected to be more pronounced than usual, with up to 40 meteors per hour visible from some areas.

The best time to view the Delta Aquarids will be between 2 and 4am, local time – that’s when the shower is expected to peak. Be sure to look towards the southeastern sky for the best view! And don’t worry if you’re not able to watch it in person – many observatories will be streaming the event online.

No matter how you choose to watch it, the last meteor shower of 2023 is sure to be a memorable event. Clear skies to everyone, and enjoy the show!
